While I'm at it, you may have seen this guy before:

Well his kind has more in common with smarter reptiles than them - although seeing themselves in that position is rather analogous. It was more inspired by his ridiculous outfit.

Thank you! I used part of this photo of Klaus in “Warped Speed”’s second part (posted last month, out of sequence), but this will be perfect for Part 3’s Cold War closeup..

Amazing how many people didn't pick up on the code names of Warpspeed and Sputnik...as 5g satellites were launched in March 2020...the War of the Worlds ensued...our bacteria vs heavy metal nanobots. So much is hidden in plain sight, no?

I know it's not from Star Trek, but it's time we all learn how to "use the force!"

An interesting difference here is that Sputnik was a real achievement - reminding people of former glory to let something seem in a positive light, wheras Warpspeed, is fantasy, like some other more recent things in the West... But futuristic fantasy, vs. nostalgic glory.

What does that mean? Different collective souls need different types of motivation, or, one things seems more believable to them than the other? It was also Putin who, 20 or so years ago, changed the then current Russian anthem to one using the melody of this glorious composition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLcc19mt4eA

Yes Sputnik made the US look timid and technologically inferior, which turned this country’s ambitions space-ward, leading to the Apollo missions as well as to “Star Trek”’s flagship role in Cold War propaganda, as my next post will detail.

Perhaps in some cases futuristic fantasy is actually based on glorious nostalgia…

Forgive me but I don’t recognize the tune of Putin’s anthem?

Oh it's just the old Soviet anthem that was, IIRC, composed for the purpose. And Putin re-purposed it around 2000 or so. After the curtain went down, they had different music (and words) for some years, or so I was told by a Russia-born descendant of a German POW.

But as far as anthems go, it's the best I've heard.
